Manly Dam re-opened in mass action by the Mountain Bike community

Well done Mountain Bikers of Australia.. your quick action has re-opened Sydney’s most accessible Mountain Biking destination!

An email sent out by Warringah council on the 12th of March confirms the fact that the flood of emails to councillors, organisation of civilised protest and quick action by our strong community of passionate riders has made all the difference in re-opening the track circling Manly Dam in the heart of Sydney’s North.

In fact, the singletrack sections of the track that were closed by council have now been closed to pedestrians instead and signs erected to this effect! The only condition is now that the trail must be ridden in a clockwise direction.

Thank you to all of you who took action writing to councillors and getting out there to show how much this matters to our community.. Thank you to the Warringah councillors (who were never at fault by the way) for listening and acting swiftly and thanks to all the Mountain Bike community leaders who moved quickly to get word out and get people organised!
